Australian Couple Enjoy Dream Thailand Wedding
My Perfect Senses team had the pleasure of helping a lovely couple from New South Wales, Australia tie the knot in Thailand on 26th October 2019.
The wedding, held at the Cape Panwa Hotel and Spa Phuket, Thailand, between Hayley and Jamie on the beach in front of the big Old Thai Manor house which literally is smack bang on the edge of the white beach and blue ocean, unfortunately, the tide was out, so we had 3 dimensions to our view the white sandy beach, a narrow ridge of coral rocks and then a warm and welcoming blue ocean beyond that.
Well, I was so lucky to have been selected by the Jamie and Hayley based on a recommendation from the Cape Panwa Resort and Spa, which is a favourite Thai wedding location of mine for many reasons, I had been married here myself and enjoyed this venue and their service with fond memories.
Wedding Planning with the Couple
Once my celebrant service was confirmed I arranged to meet with the bride and groom the day before their big day, this allowed me to gain valuable insight into their personalities, hobbies, and shared interests. When speaking to them I found out that they share a love of fishing and as well as this I found out a few secrets about each of them, which enabled me to build a bespoke civil ceremony for them with some additional twists and turns and a few surprises to keep the guests amused.
Finding a happy balance is essential, as emotions can get the better of all us especially on such a special day so we also made plans to allow time for some deep breaths during the ceremony journey. Once I had all the relevant information about the couple I took the time to run over how their ceremony will flow and the key details about the who where and when to make sure I had covered all the bases ahead of the big day.
Coffee consumed, collecting my pad, pen and phone it was time to allow the lucky couple some "them time".
My Civil Ceremony Preparation Process
Next up, I always take the time to get my civil ceremony notes edited and printed off; get my shoes polished to military standards, and collect my suit, fresh from the cleaners.
Then some mind games and rehearsals, talking to myself into a mirror until everything slipped into place and I was on point, my wife likes this part and has a laugh.
When the big day arrived as usual, I arrived early and had plenty of time to grab that all-important coffee, find the event organizer, review the location setup and test the sound system, visit the groom to ensure he had his vows sorted. I also always double and even triple check, that the best man has rings!
Following this last minute catch up, it is then time to get booted and suited myself ahead of meeting and greeting the guests, where I put them at ease as they arrive and wait. This is an important part of the day, a great professional celebrant can gain valuable insight on how to deliver his ceremony just by talking and asking questions, not forgetting to entertain with some wise comments to lift the mood and crack a few smiles.
Hayley and Jamie’s Ceremony
Waiting for the gorgeous bride Hayley, the dark tropical Phuket clouds rumbled in right on cue and the rains started. Everyone dashed under the big veranda of the big old Manor House to wait it out while the beautiful bride arrived in secret and hid out of sight inside this stunning big old house in Phuket.
So no new surprises, the groom was totally unaware, and the best man had strict instructions Jamie was not to go "walkabout". Less than 15 min, the clouds broke, and the sun was shining on the righteous.
Time for lights camera and action. The whole ceremony went to plan apart from Hayley and her Vows, she left them on the table, amazingly she kept calm and rolled it out from memory, wow she nailed it! Kudos to Hayley to be able to deliver it with style when under so much emotional stress.
With Photographers, Videographers buzzing around trying to get the best shots it was time for Jamie and Hayley to seal the deal with their all-important kiss, me stepping back out of shot, followed up by the couple signing their ceremony certificate.
Another Great Job Complete
My job was almost done, just a little time to mingle and network with the odd photo opportunity.
I always stay around for a short time in case of any last-minute questions and then change into a more suitable set of clothing for my drive home, standard practice in the humidity of Thailand!
I was delighted to be left a wonderful review which Hayley and Jamie Ellis kindly posted in an online wedding directory.
“My HUSBAND and I just managed to “Thai the Knot” at the beautiful Cape Panwa House of Phuket, Thailand. As we live in a different country, the wedding package came with many inclusions allowing me to stress less and not need to organise much other than our holiday, budget and outfits. Although on the one hand, I would argue that this facilitated less stress, the unknown details was also a little stressful. One of the inclusions of the package was our Celebrant Nigel, and of all the amazing features and quality of the wedding package, he was the best.
Nigel takes the time to get to know his couples and is able to add such a beautiful personal touch to the ceremony. He can guide the vibe of the guests and magically take away the nerves and stress of the day. He certainly made me feel so at ease on the day and guests that have attended multiple weddings rates him as the number one Celebrant they have ever experienced.
Thank you so much, Perfect-Senses for your time and service. I hope to see you again in Thailand or maybe in Aus Land. You guys are FANTASTIC!!!!! <3”
